Explore This Coffee

Colombia La Palma is Wu Wei Coffee’s first direct trade single origin coffee from the Santander Region of Colombia. La Palma farm, part of the Cañaveral Bajo (low cane field) region translates to ‘The Palm’ named after the soaring 20’ surrounding palm trees, before the cultivation of coffee the farm held a sugar cane plantation farm. Unaware to many, but palm trees play an important role in the coffee ecosystem by providing shade to the coffee trees, protecting them from excess sunlight. Tasting notes of coffee cultivated in this area are typically noted for their chocolate and hazelnut properties, with a hint of citrus. Our goal with this coffee is to honour these delicate properties of the green bean and magnify them through the magic of roasting. As a Latin American myself, it’s not only an honour, but a privilege to re-launch Wu Wei Coffee with a Latin American offering such as La Palma. Building Direct Trade relationships with coffee growers is a core tenet to Wu Wei Coffee. This sustainable model gives us the reassurance that coffee growers are fairly compensated for the intense physical labour that goes into bringing this coffee from the farm, to our cupping lab, to your cup.
